Al-Sharaa Arrives in Riyadh at Head of Senior Syrian Delegation
The delegation includes several senior Syrian officials, among them the ministers of foreign affairs and expatriates, defense, finance and industry, as well as the head of the General Intelligence Directorate. The composition of the delegation brings together representatives from key political, security and economic institutions.
The visit follows Al-Sharaa’s previous trip to Riyadh on Oct. 6, less than a month earlier, when he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss issues related to Syria’s recovery and its economic future.
During that meeting, the two sides addressed efforts to support Syria’s reconstruction, attract Saudi investment and expand bilateral cooperation across several sectors.
The discussions reflected the importance of economic engagement between Damascus and Riyadh, particularly as Syria seeks investment and partnerships to support reconstruction and strengthen its institutions.
Al-Sharaa’s latest visit comes as both countries continue their engagement through high-level contacts, with the participation of senior Syrian ministers highlighting the range of issues involved in their bilateral relationship.
