Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Attends a Reception Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of China-Syria Diplomatic Relations

On September 7, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu attended a reception celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Syria and met with Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Syrian Embassy in China Zakaria Lababidi.

Miao Deyu extended congratulations on the 70th anniversary of China-Syria diplomatic relations, noting that both countries have long histories and splendid civilizations, with the ancient Silk Road forging close historical ties between them. Syria was one of the first Arab countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China.
