Israeli Strike in Southern Lebanon Kills Nine Members of Syrian Refugee Family

(MENAFN) According to reports, nine Syrian refugees from the same family, including six children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential building in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese authorities stated that the strike hit a civilian home in the town of Adloun, located near the southern city of Sidon. The Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that Israeli warplanes carried out the attack, which resulted in the destruction of the house.

The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed that the recovered bodies all belonged to a single family, highlighting the scale of the civilian loss in the incident.

Despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on April 17 and was later extended for 45 days starting May 17 through US-mediated talks, Israeli military operations in Lebanon have reportedly continued.

According to reports, the latest incident adds to a series of ongoing escalations in southern Lebanon amid continuing cross-border hostilities and fragile ceasefire conditions.
