SDF Launches Fresh Strikes on Syria’s Aleppo Again

(MENAFN) Syrian forces clashed with militants on Wednesday as bombardments targeted civilian areas of Aleppo for a consecutive day, according to reports from a Syrian news agency.

The SDF—identified by authorities as the PKK/YPG operating under an alternative designation—launched fresh artillery strikes on residential districts in northern Aleppo Wednesday morning, the news agency confirmed. The al-Suryan neighborhood came under fire in the latest wave of shelling.

The news agency reported that Syrian military units engaged the group in combat operations along the Castello and al-Sheihan fronts within the province. Casualty figures from Wednesday's violence remained unavailable at the time of reporting.

Tuesday's assaults by the SDF claimed at least five lives and left 16 people wounded across multiple strike locations in Aleppo, marking an escalation in hostilities in Syria's northern region.
